Important in everyday life, foods have several nutrients. Taking into account your color when choosing can also be important, depending on what you are looking for.

Very important in the routine to maintain the proper functioning of the organism, foods are rich in substances such as vitamins , phosphorus, beta-carotene, lycopene, chlorophyll. These components are essential to give strength, nutrition and health to the body. It is always recommended that the meal be colored, because the more colors it has, the greater the variety of nutrients.

Foods can be classified according to their color:

Red: raspberry, persimmon, strawberry, cherry and even watermelon , are some of the red fruits that have lycopene, an antioxidant substance that helps to eliminate free radicals. In addition to this substance, these foods also have anthocyanin, responsible for stimulating the bloodstream.

Orange: with vitamins B3 and C, in addition to beta-carotene, foods such as orange, papaya, pumpkin , carrot, among others, help in the functioning of the immune system and also in the quality of vision.

Purple: rich in vitamin B1 and ellagic acid, foods like grapes and beets, help fight aging, are important cancer cell fighters before they reach DNA and are also very beneficial to the skin.

Beige and brown: fight anxiety , help prevent cardiovascular and cancerous diseases, thanks to B vitamins and fibers. They are nuts, chestnuts and oats.

Green: lettuce, cucumber, alfalfa, parsley, spinach, peppers are some of the green foods that contain chlorophyll, calcium and vitamin A. Their intake helps protect the skin and heart, in addition to acting as a detoxifier in the cells.

White and yellow: important for the formation of bones, maintenance of muscles and nervous system. Example: rice, milk and dairy products, bananas , cauliflower and potatoes . They are great sources of potassium, minerals and calcium.
